Bank Holiday Stitch Up

We've got your bank holiday stitched up like a good 'un, and you'd expect nothing less from your Craft Guerrilla gals, right?

Here's your itinery...

Friday: Start the weekend right with a party! Although not directly craft related as some of you know as well as being Lisa Margreet, Craft Guerrilla's knitting queen, I'm also Trixie Minx a rollergirl with the London Rockin' Rollers. Rollergirls play hard on and off the roller derby track and tonight we're having a party - and you're all invited! Please come along to our fundraiser at The Gaff on Holloway Road from 8PM. There will be bands, booze and broads - and I predict a particularly riotous evening as there are lots of roller girl birthdays to be celebrated (including mine)! Click on the flyer below for the full details.

Saturday: If you've been out partying with the London Rockin Rollers then you're going to need a little bit of a lie-in, but not too late as you don't want to miss the first edition of that glorious British Summer tradition - the East London Craft Guerrilla summer markets. There will be beautiful goods for sale which have been lovingly hand crafted by an excellent selection of local designers and artists. And there will also be cake and cocktails!

Sunday: Come and craft with us at the British Postal Museum Archive on Sunday! They are throwing open their doors for an open weekend where you can explore the array of items they have on display. There are examples of bicycles, letter boxes, motor bikes, telephone boxes, TV license detector vans and much, much more! The Craft Guerrilla have been working away on creating some kits to celebrate the collection and we think you'll like what we've come up with...

Monday: This day is devoted to a day of reflection, for thinking back on the crafty fun you've had this weekend - and for feeling happy about the handmade things you bought at the market, the items you made at the Postal Museum and all your new rollergirl friends.

Enjoy - and see you there!

desperately seeking...funding!

We're desperately looking for funding to allow us to change venue for our D.I.Y. Craft Night. In order to do so we need some "mula", "Reddies", "Wonga", "Spandulies", "Bread"...you get the picture!!!
Not that we're not appreciative of The Rose & Crown but we're quickly outgrowing the space. It's a nice pub but we're very limited in the area where we host our evening.
AND so... we're looking for help from investors. When we say investors we mean nice lovely artists and indie crafts people not your big corporates or high Street companies. In order to make this a reality we're selling off some advertising space. For £100 a year or £60 per 6 months you can advertise on our blog plus you also get a special link on our website. That's on average 27pence per day if your getting the yearly deal. You'll be able to take advantage of our high web traffic and thanks to our promo team get noticed. We've been featured in the Evening Standard, Time Out, BBC Good Homes, News Night and have an extensive network of "friends" which visit both our site and blog.
Also your very welcome to become a sponsor. This means you're a Craft Guerrilla benefactor and we'd love you forever!Whatever you can afford helps so please do if you can. As you know we are a totally self funded grass roots project and we depend on the generosity of people like you!
Sounds good? For further information , T&Cs and requirements E mail Deborah: craftguerrilla@yahoo.com

The Affordable Vintage Fair...

Just in time for SPRING the lovely ladies of Rag & Bow will be attending the Affordable Vintage Fair in York hall, Bethnal Green. I'm finding this very hard to resist...the promise of a gorgeous spring/summer wardrobe is just something a gal can not ignore! Though the purse is crying "UH OH, I think this isn't a good idea" the head and heart are screaming "OH YES IT IS, you know how you love a bargain!!!" I'm going to have to agree with the latter. Every time I've been I've come away with some great finds and still hadn't gone over my budget. Go check it out and bag yourself some gorgeous apparel!

Keep your peepers peeled because this year Craft Guerrilla have a fantastic event planned. We've been planning it for the last year. We were so inspired by last years turnout that we've super sized it so to accommodate all the lovely visitors and host an event to remember. Lets just say that it'll knock your socks off!

Win a SOLO show in the William Morris Gallery!

Personally I love William Morris, his work and philosophy are something which I revisit constantly.
Both his attitude and ethos towards art and craft were a major factor in forming the cornerstone beliefs of Craft Guerrilla. Like him we push the message of "craft for the masses"!
In a way it's thanks to this great luminary that groups like us exist. Without the likes of Morris we wouldn't hold such an important place in local identity and community. So when we heard the gallery was opening up their space to artists and crafts people we thought we'd share it with you. This is a great opportunity not just to exhibit but also to get yourself and your work noticed. Who knows where it will take you?
Please click on the image above for further details including deadline.
Happy making and good luck!
